Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Turkey on an official visit with the First Lady. The President said that he plans to meet with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife, Emine Erdoğan.

The key topics will include the return of Ukrainians home as part of exchanges, food security, and the development of educational and cultural initiatives overseen by the first lady. Zelenskyy emphasized that work in these areas would continue.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on February 18. According to Erdogan’s spokesman, Faretin Altun, the Ukrainian leader arrived in Turkey at the invitation of the head of state.

Back in December 2024, Erdogan said that ending the war in Ukraine was one of Turkey’s main tasks in 2025. In his New Year’s address, he expressed hope for the beginning of a “new era” in the north and emphasized that Ankara would continue to make efforts for a just peace between neighboring countries.
