S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, created by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World, may get a new life in the form of a series on Netflix. In a recent interview with Forbes, businessman Maksym Krippa spoke about possible plans to adapt the cult game for the streaming platform. According to him, preliminary negotiations are currently underway with Netflix representatives, and the idea of creating a series is at an early stage of discussions.
There are no official announcements about the start of filming yet, but the news itself has already aroused considerable interest among fans of the game. If the project is realized, it could be an important step in the popularization of the franchise internationally. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has every chance to attract the attention of a global audience, which will not only expand the fan base but also consolidate the game’s status as a cult work in its genre.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has a chance to become a new hit on the level of The Witcher
Investor Maksym Krippa is confident that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has a significant potential for large-scale development and expansion of the franchise. According to him, the GSC Game World team will be actively working on the creation of two DLCs that will not only add new storylines but also improve the overall gameplay. In addition, they are working on a multiplayer mode that will become an important component of the game and attract even more players.

Krippa drew an analogy between the upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and the success of the Polish The Witcher, which became a national achievement and brought Poland worldwide fame. It is worth reminding that The Witcher has achieved phenomenal results: more than 50 million copies of the game sold, a cult series on Netflix, and a new round of popularity of the book series by Andrzej Sapkowski.
Krippa emphasized that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 demonstrated a high level of interest right from the start. In just 36 hours after the release, more than a million copies of the game were sold, which indicates global interest in this project. The investor is confident that the game can not only repeat the success of The Witcher, but also become a long-term phenomenon in the world of video games, leaving a significant mark on the industry.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is already conquering players around the world
Maksym Krippa shared that the development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has become a real life’s work for the GSC Game World team. In the last months before the release, the studio worked in an intensive mode, devoting almost all of its time to the project. According to Krippa, the game’s release on November 20 was crucial – any delay could have negatively affected the team’s morale and led to burnout.
Krippa admitted that the team was aware of the possibility of technical problems at the start. However, it was more important for the studio to present the players with a fascinating story and intense gameplay. In his opinion, technical errors could be fixed later, while a weak story or ill-conceived gameplay would leave a negative impression. The investor emphasized that the main goal is to give players vivid emotions and create a product that the team will be proud of.
When Krippa became part of GSC Game World in 2020, the team consisted of 65 people. However, over the next few years, the studio expanded significantly, despite the challenges of the pandemic and war. By the time of release, about 470 specialists were already working on the game. At the same time, about 270 employees remained in Ukraine, working in difficult conditions, while others performed their tasks remotely from abroad.
Krippa emphasizes that this result was achieved thanks to teamwork, dedication and unwavering belief in success. While there were still some technical issues at launch, the studio quickly released patches that fixed key issues and improved the overall player experience.
