LLC Maincast, owned by Maksym Krippa, is introducing two new TV channels. These channels will be broadcast via OTT services and available through cable operators.

This decision was announced following the November 7, 2024, meeting of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting.

LLC Maincast unveiled the two new channels, offering diverse content tailored to Ukrainian audiences. The Maincast Sports channel will focus on sports broadcasts, including international championships featuring Ukrainian athletes. Meanwhile, the Maincast channel will provide viewers with entertainment video content. Both channels will operate 24/7 and broadcast exclusively in Ukrainian, promoting the growth of Ukrainian-language programming.

In addition, the company plans to launch its own OTT platform, Maincast.tv, which will focus on sports content. This project aims to expand its audience and promote Ukrainian-language broadcasts, which have already received positive feedback from viewers. According to the company’s co-founder, Vitaliy Volochay, the development of esports in Ukraine is closely tied to investments in quality content and the support of the Ukrainian language on the international stage.

Details

The launch of the new TV channels, Maincast Sport and Maincast is scheduled for November 30, 2024. The company’s primary focus is on developing Ukrainian-language content, which will be a crucial area of its operations. Maincast Sport will broadcast various sporting events, including international championships featuring Ukrainian athletes. In the future, the company is considering adding broadcasts in other languages, such as Polish.

The company plans to focus on growing its audience in its initial phase. Access to content will be open at first, but a paywall model is scheduled for premium materials later. Negotiations with potential distributors are currently underway. The main goal for the channels in their first year is to popularize content and attract new viewers rather than generate immediate profits.
